Homemade adventures!

I am getting really into making things that I would otherwise buy. This past weekend I made rhubarb and plum jam with rhubarb from the veg box and garden and plums from the garden that I froze from last autumn :)

I'm in the middle of making more aprons for little girl birthday presents. They would have been finished by now, but my lovely new sewing machine is being sent back because its not working as it should. Hopefully I will have a new one tomorrow :) I'm also trying to make a shoulder bag for a friend's birthday that she can use as a peg bag, so that's another slew of presents sorted. Got a few more to think about in the next few weeks tho...

But the thing that I am most excited about is making my own laundry liquid! Sad eh?! I have a recipe, I have all the ingredients, and I am just trying to round up 8 litres worth of bottles to store it in once I have made it. I'll probably make it at the weekend. I've decided to make an unscented version for the summer as I dry most things outside and they all smell of outside regardless of what scents are in the washing powder or conditioner. For the winter washes, I shall purchase scented soap for grating. It works out so much cheaper than buying soap powder from the supermarket. In fact, I get 8 litres of washing liquid for the price of less than one. And from all reports, its really good stuff!

Sounds like you've been busy! Isn't it fun to know that you made so many lovely things yourself? You should post some pictures of those adorable little aprons...
