Day 4, 5 and 6 of Blog Fast

To be honest, I didn't really notice the blog fast for the end of the week. This was mainly because I was so busy with family and friends that I didn't even have time to sit down and spend time on the pink box of tricks. And I haven't missed it.

And now I am at my parents for a week while Hubby is in the USA with work. It is busy here too, and I am spending a lot of time talking with Mum rather than reading blogs. Which is a good thing.

So what have I learnt this week? The obvious really. Spending a lot of time reading blogs of other people's lives sometimes leads to feelings of inadequecy and certainly robs me of precious times with my family. Having said that, there is a lot of good stuff out there which is encouraging and motivating and I need to be able to sift through what I read to hang onto the good stuff and refuse to feel inadequate (sp?) when my life doesn't match up to someone else's.

I have decided to save blog reading for the evening times, and only as a second priority to anything that Hubby and I have planned (obviously). I will still keep blogging as I have found that really helpful for keeping my thoughts on track but I won't spend too much time offline thinking about online things.

Its not rocket science and I think that I knew all this before I started, but I needed to prove to myself that I could go a week without reading blogs and not miss it. Perhaps I should do the same with facebook too?

I have a friend who gave up Facebook for Lent, and enjoyed the experience. I read quite a few blogs because of the way my day is structured - but I don't generally read them at home. And when I'm at home, I don't even really miss them!
