Sunny days

Sunny days mean that I don't blog anywhere near as much as I should to keep this up to date! We are having unseasonably hot weather at the moment, and so most of spare time is being spent outside. I have planted tomatoes, peppers, spinach and lecttuce and seeing what happens. Last year I planted my entire flower bed, and yielded next to nothing. This year I have planted about a quarter of the bed, and hoping to yield a lot more.

My Fridays off work are so enjoyable. This last Friday I spent the morning looking after my Godson who just grows cuter and cuter each time we see him. Also got to spend some quality time with his mum, which was appreciated by both of us I think! In the afternoon, I got the housework done and made a pie, much to Hubby's delight. And the best thing was that the pie lasted all weekend, which meant I didn't have to spend sunshine hours inside cooking!

A housework tip I remembered from my watching my mum - when cleaning the bathroom, go over everything with your hand towel at the end of the job to give everything that 'hotel' look. it takes about 3 seconds and makes such a huge difference. Turns a 'clean' bathroom into a welcoming space. Of course, the handtowel should then be washed, but you were going to do that anyway, with the other towels and bathmats!

And on the work front, it is still slow, so I am optimistic for getting my hours down to 3 days a week. This should happen in 2 weeks time, so I will keep you posted.

Thanks for the handtowel tip! It's such a random thing to comment on but it has been bugging me that my bathroom still looks messy after I clean it.
