Busy weekend!

We had our annual church weekend away this weekend, and we were looking at effectively, our worth in Christ, and that we are lovable by Him etc. I found it good, but not overly mind-blowing, but then I guess these things can't be pitched to all people at all times. However, the encouragement Hubby and I got from those around us was amazing. We just hung out, played with the little kiddies on the beach, took loads of photos, and were there, and yet just those few things blessed the people around us, far more than we imagined! It was a blessing to be a blessing.

It looks like I may be able to come come home earlier than I originally thought... When I say come home, I am not totally stopping work, but am going to reduce my hours. I don't think that I am able to do this in my current job, but as a result of a conversation over the weekend, I may be able to do my job at a different firm on a part-time basis. It is at the wait and see stage at the moment, as is so much. But it is exciting, confirming even, to be having these conversations and see God moving.

One of the main reasons that I am not coming home full time is that I do not think that I will have enough to do at home to effectively fill my time during what would be normal working hours. In days gone by, household chores would take far longer as the technology that we take for granted today just wasn't around. There would be more people to visit and get alongside because less people (women, wives, mothers) worked in the workplace, but nowadays it is expected that women work unless they have children at home and even then, they are encouraged back into the workplace. Also, in this day and age, property prices have increased far more than the average salary, and while Hubby's salary enables us to live, it doesn't cover much more than that, and so extra pennies that I earn are very useful.

However, having said all of the above, it may turn out that my working at all is a bad thing for us, and we will deal with that when the time comes. But in the meantime, I am looking forward to coming home albeit part time.
